I subscribed in winter 2019 when it was still Blueprint. The TLDR of what follows is I do not recommend anyone signing up for their subscription service. Was it better before? Does anyone know what the hell is going on over there? Because I feel like I'm going insane. I know Craftsy was purchased by Bluprint, who renamed it Bluprint and then renamed back to Craftsy. They just don't really explain any of this, and when you go to their website to look at "Craftsy Membership Info" it just urges you to become an "annual member" which is neither Premium nor Gold. classes you can purchase? Are they the same? Is the only benefit to purchasing a class that you then "own" it forever? Because the Gold membership apparently comes with "8 free classes" and "20% all Craftsy-produced classes" but with the membership you can stream them anyway. And is there a difference between the classes you stream vs. Money means nothing, apparently?īut also, why would I upgrade to Gold? I can't figure out what the benefit is, short of the 10 free patterns. I became a Premium member for $5 for the entire year, which was also a ridiculous amount in savings (so much so that I felt like it was a scam, but here we are and I can watch the videos, so I guess it wasn't). I got an offer to upgrade from Premium to Gold for $9 in my email, for a discount of $140. There is a difference between " has poorly written instructions and a limited size range." and " is an idiot and so is anyone who purchases their patterns." We expect you to know that difference. There is no need to personally insult anyone, including public figures. We're here to goof on patterns and discuss the latest craft influencer/business gossip. But a link with no context or relevance is unwelcome. If you want to comment on someone's post about fit with your blog comparison of three different relevant patterns, hell yeah. If you want to write a post that links your store to show off your work, cool. Linking to your youtube video, your etsy store, or your monetized blog are a little different. We love to see one another's work, and linking to your instagram is totally kosher to show off your latest. The garment or the pattern should be changed (by the individual) to fit the body, not the other way around. The crafter/creator/model's body is right the way it is. Shitty body talk includes "she's too fat for that", "that's the wrong body type for ", or anything about another person losing weight. Okay body talk includes "the pulling suggests she needs a broad back adjustment", "those look too tight in the seat", "the garment is the wrong size". Remember rule 1 though - don't snark on hobbyists. We don't require but do strongly encourage users to name and/or link to who or what they are snarking on so that others can join the snark with full context. Snark about hobbyists, their projects, or general complaints/vents about the crafting community are better suited to r/BitchEatingCrafters. If they don't make money off of the crafting community, they shouldn't be the focus of snark posts here. The focus of the sub is monetized crafting content, influencers, and businesses. Please use the "report" tool or message the mods for posts or comments violating our rules.
